There are countless article marketing strategies, and any number of them will work if you execute them correctly. Personally, I tend to lean towards strategies that are low maintenance, cover a wide range of PageRank, and appear random in the eyes of the search engines.
I like to call this article marketing strategy the 3 Layer Cake because it involves layering your article queues. Plus, the results are so so sweet.
The primary ingredient in The 3 Layer Cake article marketing strategy is an article. You can get your article any number of ways, but I generally do the following:
As I said earlier, I call this article marketing strategy the 3 Layer Cake because you create layers of queues for the article. This diversifies the rate at which your article is distributed and spreads out the posts amongst sites of different PageRank.
Create all 3 queues at once so that you don't have to think about it again for awhile.
The purpose of the first layer is to create a solid foundation of high PageRank links. This queue will run for about a month.
Once you have a queue for high PageRank links, you need to mix in some PR1 to PR3 links as well. This queue will run for about a month.
With the first 2 queues, you have a 60/40 ratio of mid-range links to high PageRank links. Now, it is time to mix in even more variety. This queue will run for about 2 months.
One of the nice things about this article marketing strategy is that it is so easy to repeat. You can create a new "cake" every week, once a month, or any time you need an extra ranking boost.
In fact, I highly recommend having more than one campaign running at once. This way, your link building is further diversified with unique articles and your rankings improve even faster.
Of course, you should use a different article, and I suggest that you vary your anchor text and even use different target URLs.
